November 2010 NewsletterWell, autumn is well and truly here and only about 7 weeks left of 2010, where has this year gone?? I hope you are fit and well, and here is a roundup of this month’s news.
Dell PC System for sale.
The details are: Windows XP (Service Pack 2) Intel Celeron Processor (2.4Ghz) 1 Gb RAM 37Gb Hard drive (26Gb free space) Microsoft Office 2000 17” Flat screen monitor Keyboard & Mouse Price including basic set up £130.00 There is only one, so it’s first come first served. Dragon Voice Recognition Software
I have been using this amazing software called Dragon Naturally Speaking, which allows you to dictate your words and commands through a microphone or webcam, directly into your computer or laptop, and it simply types your words straight into a Word document or email. It is really accurate, once you have set it up to recognise your voice and accent, and has to be seen to be believed. As well as dictation, it will obey your commands such as Open Email, Open Internet etc. It is available though Amazon for less than £60.00 and is ideal for those who have trouble using a normal keyboard and mouse. Highly recommended. Winter Tune Up & Service
It’s probably time for its winter service and clean up. It could be a number of things slowing it down, too numerous to go through here, but I offer a fixed price tune up and service to my customers. This takes about an hour and I do a full service as well as checking your computer’s security is working properly. It also includes a full back up of all your valuable date, documents, pictures emails etc, just in cased disaster where to strike. Just call or email me to arrange a visit from Dr Henry, to restore your computer to its former glory. Michele Moss (Mobile Personal Assistant)
Web Albums
The answer is to create a free Web Album, which allows you to upload as many pictures as you wish, to your own personal web album. You then send your friends or family members an email which doesn’t contains loads of attachments, instead a simple link to your web album, which they click on and voila, your pictures are all there, and able to be downloaded and printed. Brilliant and free. If you would like a lesson on how to do this, let me know and I’d be happy to come and show you how simple it is. And finally…….3D Stereogram time again. This time I’m actually going to tell you what it is. If you stare at the picture for longer enough, your eyes will re-focus and you will see the three dancing girls hidden in the picture. It’s just too clever.
That’s it for this month. I hope this has been interesting for you, and remember that me and Michele are here for you if you need any further help. Speak soon |
