It can appear on any Windows PC or laptop with a big scary warning saying SECURITY WARNING. YOUR COMPUTER HAS BEEN INFECTED. It will then tell you to click on the Scan button to run a scan of your computer. After a few minutes it will say your computer has thousands of infections, and tell you to pay $50 to download a programme to remove it. DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO IT!!!
Do I make myself clear? Secondly, if you pay them $50 then you have paid for nothing of any benefit whatsoever, plus thirdly, they now have your credit card details. If you get such a warning appear, then call me immediately and do not use the computer. In most cases I can sort this out after having a little fight with the computer.
